hey all,
I'm and old eq2 veteran, i wont say my char names, or which guilds i have belonged to, but i played for a little over two years and had quite a few high level classes.
i was thinking i could be able to help with the progress of the emulator.
since i know every pre kunkark area in the game basically and with a large amount of quests done..
(however, doing some of those quests, is just gonna be painful. :(. some STILL require camping in an area for up to 8 hours or more just go find that one mob.
those quests in my opinion, need to be marked down and changed for the emu. they are extremly inhibitive to the overall progress of the game.
also from my expereince, the way sony acutally treats the classes is rubbish. wed almost be better off thinking up our own skills, spells, and achievements they relying upon the often broken and unbalanced system that is there. ofcourse that would not make the emu sony like.
i have several ideas. that would be fun to discuss and work upon :)

The emulator is going to be designed to meet Live specifications, not an attempt to "fix" SOE's mistakes. After the emulator core and database are viable and functional, I am sure any server admin will be free to modify it to their liking for custom use.
Thanks for the input, but I doubt the team is interested in straying from a near Live-like experience at this time.

Markus, your idea is good but I think same than John I we start to modify a thing or another because some player don't like this quest, this mob spawn... The db going to release in 2055 lol. So the "official" DB of emulator going to be an offi like content, but for sure you are able to modify your server content as you wish

ok well it was worth a try. :)
i would still be interested in helping, since i tend to love questing and leveling up. reaching lvl 20 within a day is usualy not a problem. nor is reaching lvl 10 in under an hour ;) (so long as there are things to kill.
so whats the deal, just get the pc, and play the game?
btw is there some kind of warning for when you hit the 25 meg limit to the file? so you know when to stop?
i can imagine raids will be a huge problem when it comes to logs wouldnt it?
dont get me wrong, i dont totally hate SOE. i just see opertunities for betterment. :P. however. since getting the emulator working well in the first place might be needed so that maybe one day people can do their own stuff. why not just help you guys out ;)
