Tears of Veeshan
I expect this to be a pretty long beta judging by all the changing involved.
EverQuest 2 - Tears of Veeshan
Calling it the high level dungeon expansion.
Mission system will be added.
Point of Interest for local story quests.
New dragon abilities will be added.
New abilities will come to classes from the elder dragons.
Abilities will now go up to 340 points.
There will be a new itemization plan which allows more customization for players.
More mercenary slots will be added.
They are also improving dungeon finder.
Brand new class into the game.
The Channeler is a Priest archtype which comes with a construct pet. The Channeler uses a bow and wears leather armor.
The class will be playable at SOE Live this weekend.
Next year is the 10th anniversary.
Heroic Characters will be coming in mid-September. They come with pre-assigned character advancement template and a flying mount.

Re: Tears of Veeshan
Guess we better step it up a little getting new structs working. Seems SOE is back in ass-slam-expansion mode
I do like how the game is evolving though... too bad I have no time to be a player.

Open Beta for EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan will open tomorrow, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. This is a great chance for players to check out the new Channeler class and new dragon-themed Alternative Advancement (AA) systems for each archetype. We’d love your feedback on these features, as well as other parts of the expansion! Beta will last until the launch of Tears of Veeshan on Tuesday, November 12, 2013!

Anything worth stealing, or just more items to pay for with real money?Jabantiz wrote:Open beta for this expansion starts tomorrow.

New zones, new AA's, mainly a new class. Haven't been able to check it out yet but I am hoping they give the beta buff bauble again so we could quickly collect some older zones we have missed. As for the new stuff I think the new class would be the most important, but it also seems like it is just the beast lord class with a different name (my opinion from what I have read)

Just an update for those that haven't logged into the beta yet, there is a beta buffer and gear merchant, it can't be used with the new class however. We can collect some of the zones we are still missing as well as run through the newer zones. The buffer will put you at level 95

At the druid ring in the new zone (where you zone in), The same guy with the zone reset bauble, I have noticed the buff bauble only showed up in the merchant list when in the first instance of the zone.

In regards to AA's
I started playing on the live server a last month and I would just voice my opinion here in the hopes somebody developing a custom server will consider my opinion.
With how easy AA's are to obtain, and even easier to swap around. (you can swap them on the fly in any zone at any time), I don't see why there is even a restriction on the amount of AA's you can obtain.
I could see either making AA's long and hard to obtain or just leaving them unrestricted. It doesn't make sense to me to make a system designed around swapping AA templates though. That just seems a clumsy game design to me.
My 2 cents anyways
ps not a game designer but i play lots of games!

Re: Tears of Veeshan
History shows, hard-core gamers are some of the best game designers ever
Definitely some good points, but the reason gaming companies make things so easy is because society are lazy twits who will just to play another game if they can't have it all right now.
I call this the "Veruca Salt Syndrome".

Re: Tears of Veeshan
This makes me sad.
Are we caught up? All our structs/opcodes done for the LAST update? I feel we're slipping, though i haven't thoroughly checked out Darkness Dawns yet.

Re: Tears of Veeshan
Yeah our structs are pretty much done for the last update as far as I know. That character create issue was the last thing that kind of lingered for awhile but we got caught up fairly quick other than that.
