Please read the forum or use search before asking question. Plus client modification or diffusion is illegal...

Only thing I can suggest is buying the RoK box set and running with that.

I'm not sure if SOE still has the free accounts available. If they do, it might be possible to get the client that way. However, the client you get from live might not be compatible with this version. The only sure fire solution would be to install the RoK expansion. However, be aware that the emu is still new and there isn't much you can do in it right now. I would hold off on getting it if the emu is the only reason you have to buy it.

Yeah that would be a bright idea! Thanks for putting that in there.

I believe that if you patch to live now that the emulator will not be able to work. The last date that the emulator was updated was November 18th, 2007. It will most likely be the last update for the Emu until next expansion or if majority of the community cannot play the Emu ( That is the only reasons I can see for it going to newer client versions)

i noticed that my username/password are declined (i suppose it's a result from patching to high?)...
What can i do? I made a copy from my EQ2-Directory before patching. Is there any chance to set my EQ to a specific patch level so that everything would work?
Probably i'll try out tomorrow... now it's nearly 2am... i'm going to bed :P

great idea but i don't want to buy ROK :) so what chances do i have? wait for the emu to support the current client? nice...
i have currently 4554L but lets face it... if someone installs EQ2 to play on a server he has to patch somehow... doesn't he?
Oh and i'd like to hear an explanation why ROK would solve the problem of a too high client version...

SOL

Post by kouhei » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:11 am

Well as for me I bought the orginal CD EQ2 disc when it first came out. Then got into eq1 finally getting a little tired with that so when I installed and patch up. I am just like you SOL unless I go out and buy the ROK cds. I Keep checking everyday for a ******* to pop up but no luck yet. But for now since I have a live account and the Pay fae is still active 15 days I am packet collecting at least for now. So keep praying for a ******* to pop up or go out and buy a set of ROK. But some post earlier said probally better to wait until a more stable code to come out.
