It was an interesting moment when the google oracle told me the results for +"Everquest 2" +Server +emulator the 4th result was this site and it took me only 1 minute after arriving to register. It's great what you are going to do and i'll stay here, reading, maybe testing (if there is something to test and you need help)....
Now i'll take my time, searching around a bit, reading the topics and so on...

Welcome to the forums, torgum.
When the emulator is officially released there will be a greater need for help as far as testing goes, and it's great to have people who are enthusiastic about the project!

So .. I#m still reading boards but i'm currently at work.
can you post me a link what the emu can do and what it can not?
Because if i'd want to setup a kind of freeshard, i would like to build up my own ideas ... so how far can i customize it?

The Emulator will be surprisingly customizable once it's completed.

The best place to start reading right now would be the development forum, since we don't really have a lot written up about it right now. Only the basics of the emulator have been completed so far, as this project has only recently restarted.

Welcome to the boards Torgum. As Tarz said, there is very little information at this time on just about everything as the project only really restarted last month. The public release will be ready in November as the Devs are going to set it for the RoK expansions and we are goign to stay on that for awhile as we develop it further. By then, most of the core functionality should be implemented. As of right now, about the only thing that is truely done is the character creation process, logging in, and zoneing, plus some other things, but you still can not move I think and there of course is no combat at this time.
Lots of time to get things going so all we can do is just sit back and wait anxiously.

Nah, you can move around and explore zones. I am working on getting spells working atm. Hopefully they will be finished soon.

Welcome to the project.
Right now we can move around zones, load some geometry...and that's about it

. More to come.

See, I should just shut my mouth about stuff I do not know about. Guess thats what I get for not getting you to set me up a account so I can jump in and see. Maybe I should do that, but first things first, updating my EQ2.

Great idea, get a trial, update for free and then have a look at the new src
