Figured I'd share thought it was kinda funny myself Vanguard, Clone Wars, Free Realms and Wizardry all going away soon.

ya but VGemu would probably have a huge following as VG realm was still fairly full and gaining in popularity again. Wizardy never really took off really I liked the game and idea behind it but PvP trolling was just too easy and took all the fun out of playing.

Sucks to hear about Vanguard, never played it myself but it had kind of a cult following. Free realms/clone wars were just cash grabs so whatever on those, I'm sure some kids enjoyed them though so sucks for them.

Words alone can't describe how amazing Vanguard is and the memories my friends and I have had playing it (at least I have the screenshots) and words still can't describe how mad I am hearing about it after the bad week I've had. Things come in threes and I think someone's trying to tell me something. The most amazing things live for such a short amount of time while the sucky ones last forever. VG was the only MMO I played from SOE after eq2 got funky and I left in 2009. I played VG on and off a lot between 2010 and now and it was a unique experience that I feel should be a crime to take away from the players it has graced.
The thing that sucks is it was the dream MMO of Sigil and when SOE bought it and got rid of the original team, they stole the game and destroyed it by letting it sit and rot. It's almost like the disgusting tentacles of SOE's rotten business practices viewed the kind hearted VG as a threat to life as we know it because it was actually something new and unique and it was the plan all along for it to wait for that fateful day.
So this one goes out to the Sigil team. I'll toast in your honor. At least one person didn't forget who designed the game and filled it with life, only thing SOE did was host the server files.

Haha, tell us how you really feel

Though I am with you there... some really dumb games out there, while the bad ass, challenging ones die because PLAYERS are so "entitled" now, they won't play a game unless they get everything handed to them... free.
Which is why we emulate

Join us over at vgoemulator.net, while we cannot make the game better than SOE left it (cannot fix the client) we can certainly get you into the world for some fond memories (
soon tm).
Personally, the first thing I will do is spawn General Vicus and 1-shot his ass

Hate that guy!

Will a login and game server at least be up and running After the real VG is gone? If we can't have the game anymore we should at least keep the beauty of Telon alive.
My iphone keeps auto correcting Telon to Telomere. Lol.

No, I doubt we'll get a playable game working in only 6 mos, with 1 C++ guy. We'll certainly try though. Check the VG Emu forums though, a guy named TigerTiger keeps posting interesting ways to get into the client even without servers. I just never had the time to try it myself.
