My server is up. In thelogg ini file the worldaddress= is my ip ( external )
in internalworld=192.168.0.5( that is my net work ip.
ok with that said all ports are open 9100, and 9000.
and I have forward the port to the 192.168.0.5
I can get in with no problems, my son can get in on his computer next to me no problem. but my friend at her house cannot log in .. nor can anyone else.
I removed the 192.168.0.5 and left it blank.. now my son and I , nor anyone else can log in.
It will show a chr.. in my data base but when it trys to log in to world it says
addauth:878 Key: 1198561524
and then it wont log in.
on her screen when she trys to log in and as it starts to load it says,
connecting to zone server. then it sits there until it drops her.
btw all chr zone in at antonica.
Did i miss somthing? I went though this a thousand times...
I can get everyone to connect to wow, lj2, uo, daoc dawn of light. np....
I really dont get this one.
I have tryed adding ips to the host file in the
/sys 32/ drivers/ ect.. hosts
but with no end I cant figure out where im going wrong here.
Any Ideas?
Thanks For your Help:)

You probably have a router or firewall between you and your friend that is stopping all the packets before they reach your server. That or your external IP is wrong.

well I turned off my firewall, and I went to whatismyip.com and pasted. also I tryed going into dynamicip.com and used them to reroute to me and still we cant seem to log. also she is using rok out of the box.
very strange. Any other ideas?
Would she need to open her ports? ( 9100 )
Thanks for your Help

Which server is yours? I'll try to login to it tomorrow and see if I can see the problem.

OK. I verified that the IP that you are using is correct, but after looking at a packetlog when I try to login to your server I have found that your server is not acknowledging anything on port 9000. This means that you (or maybe your ISP) have a router or firewall (to include the Windows XP firewall) turned on and it is dropping the connection to port 9000. Since your son can login locally I would assume that it is your router and not a windows xp firewall. Many cable modems nowadays have routers built in that block connections from the internet unless you configure them to allow it.

Ok, Thanks alot ;) That will help me out, I now know where To trouble shoot. I'm using Qwest,MSN. I forwarded port 9000 to 192.168.0.5 which is my deditcated server. I'm going to take a deeper look into that modem and see why and were the connection on port 9000 is getting blocked.
I know you are very busy, Thanks for taking the time, Palaxe
