Client Fatal Error No game assets found.

If you launch your EverQuest2.exe and get a Fatal Error that looks something like this

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

  No game assets found. Please launch the game from the patcher.

Then you will need to open up your eq2_default.ini and add this line to the bottom.

cl_resource_address file:///C:\<EQ2 EMU DIR>\assetcache

<EQ2 EMU DIR> is the location of the client you are using for the emulator.
eg.. file:///C:\EQ2\assetcache

This should fix the error and let your client load normally.

Jabantiz I tried out the launcher and got the same error. Great work on it. It was easy to use and understand, and looks great.

Thanks for the info, will change it to point at the folder like you discovered.

Jabantiz I found out that this was happening because my client was streaming. This is the default setting on the client if you download and install from the eq2 website. There is a option to check full download in the launcher. Once I done that the patcher had to download the player studio, packs, and music folder. Was actually around 18GB to download. Once I got the full download there was no more problem with commenting out the line.
