Server Updates Question

Post by LethalEncounter » Mon Jan 07, 2008 6:44 pm

I am in the process of removing the automatic update feature from the login server and creating a separate program that dispenses all the updates. This will allow different versions to be run on different ports to prevent database changes meant for the latest version from messing up peoples server's when running older versions.
The question I had was: Would you guys be interested in it updating other key files like the Structs and even World automatically? Obviously I would need to add a few more configuration options if it is wanted, but I didn't want to add the ability if noone would use it. Let me know what you guys think.

LE.
That's not a bad idea. I like it does allow people with different version to stay at that version until a more stable version comes out.

I made a post about the latest changes to the login server here:

After thinking about it I decided it wouldnt really be necessary to update everyone's structs automatically since they will have to install the latest version of the software whenever we update anyways.
