Massive Outage - 8/27 - 8/28 2016

I have lived in Phoenix, AZ now for 27 years... you hear the cliche's, it's a dry heat, there is no weather in Phoenix, etc. But, when there is weather - holy shit. Last night, around 10pm or so, a massive storm landed on my house and knocked out power as far as the eye can see (and that's pretty far considering I live atop a hill overlooking the city).
Never seen anything like it before. Then the rain came. And the wind. And the lightning and her minions. It was spectacular. I was certain the new roof I just put on this place was going to come off
Anyway, that's why you lost everything for 15 hours. Services are slowly coming back online. My poor NAS is moaning under the strain of powering on (and updating) over 40 VMs it serves, so it might take a while for performance to return.
It's times like these I wish I didn't host so many services, because 1/2 my day now will be spent restoring them
