Spawn Encounters

I have not been able to figure out how to spawn an encounter
I am working on some quests that when you reach a certain step linked encounter mobs will spawn, when you finish the encounter the quest updates
so if you have 2 mobs in the encounter both should be killed before an update is allowed,
an example of an in counter that i see in game is a tainted Sapswill fighter is linked to a defiled scout in queens colony , you have 4 deer link in enchanted lands etc.
i want to know how o create the linked encounters and then how to spawn them using the spawnmb command

You can link spawns with the "/spawn group" command. As for updating after the encounter is dead, or if you are making a ring event where more spawns pop after the first group is dead there is
group dead event in lua (that wiki page is a mess but all the spawn scripts events are still listed)
Code: Select all
function group_dead(Spawn, Spawn)
end
If you want examples then look at nek castle, a decent amount has been scripted in that zone and should be a good example of ring events, updating after a group is killed, and hidden quests (quests with no journal entry)

OMG! How did I get started on that page and not get back to it! Jab remind me to fix that page when we can login and edit wiki. That page looks awful!
Gangrenous I think it's in the spawn script, if that is what you are asking. If not ignore me.

scripted as in spawn scripts, zone scripts, and item scripts. Nek castle is by far the most heavily scripted zone so far and special features needed to be added to get everything working. Smash did a good job on it though and last time I checked it almost felt like live (except for me running around /kill all the mobs to progress....), not sure how far he actually got with it but I believe you can progress to the basement area.

That is awesome! WTG Smash! He is so quiet on what he is working on. I didn't even know he was working on Nek Castle.
