There is not really a place for this, but eventually I hope to add to a C# db editor or maybe even its own program so I am just posting it here for now.

I have been slowly working on getting sreenshots of the models. Being lazy I have a few scripts that is doing the work for me so I don't have to. :)
I have ended up with 2 different sizes after the cropping and wanted some input on how I really should proceed.
This is how the first ones I cropped turned out. I have about 521 of them already done.

The above is a nice close up, but cropping like this on all of them will cause a wide range of sizes. Then I ran across a few that show chest and legs so I moved to a size that would show everything from helm to feet. Here are a few images to compare the different models.

I do not have any of the chest models as they were already cropped and I will have to recrop them.
Also this is only on the wwearable items. Other models will be bigger smaller etc and I will have to mess around with them when I get to them.

So any suggestions, or if I should continue working on this, or pawn it off on Jabantiz, John Adams, Ememjr, or someone else?

I have no input, but would love to know how you're building these models (outside eq2client, I imagine?)

I too was trying to display things like this in an NPC Editor in C#, but the technology was way beyond my grasp at the time.

I used autohotkey to automate taking a screenshot then changing race by one. Then mini mouse macro to load image into GIMP, crop, overwrite file, move file to new folder, exit image in GIMP, and start the process all over again. Not exactly perfect, but it's doing the job, and the best part is I don't have to interact with it. The worst is I cannot get mini mouse macro to stop during playback, so it's a bitch to break into the middle of the process when I want to use my computer for something besides a EQ2Emu race image creation bot.

Edit:
Ememjr and I have discussed combining images into sheets, like the icons. I was thinking either add a viewer to the current DB editor, or create a separate program just for viewing them.

Holy shit.
Nevermind.

(I thought you figured out a C# way to "monge" the data together from the vpk's :))

I really want to find a different way to accomplish this. There are just way way too many images for this.
