  • Widgets in this zone don't seem to behave like they do in other zones making it difficult to set them up, thank to [mention]jakejp[/mention] the lift does go up but we can't get it to come back down yet.

To get it to go up the x and z had to be set to 0.01. anything else and it's all messed up. Usually moves sideways. It also runs up to the top then starts at bottom immediately after clicking on the lift. Then nothing.

That was probably icon for when lifts just passed through the player shortly after CoE was released. I have been going over all of our old posts about lifts trying to find something and that seemed to be our biggest issue for a while.

Currently the lift goes up but it will never go down, like you can't even interact with it. Looking at code there is a timer on the zone server that can block interaction if the lift is in motion. Those timers are in a mutex container so I am hoping once it is gone it will work, after all you know how unpredictable those containers are. If that isn't the issue I am back to being at a complete loss.

I don't think that will work in this case. I am in the old elddar grove which is gone on live. This one has always had a special lift that seemed different from other zones, I would hope the new zone updated it to match others now. Then again this is SoE/DBG we are talking about so it probably is the same...

That said I think it is our code that is the issue. Like I said works great going up, it just never wants to come back down.

Off topic, but I ended up replacing basically all of the raw Client pointer references and LuaSpell references with smart pointers.
Also got rid of the connected_clients mutex map or list or whatever it was.

Still doing some testing but so far so good.

Uh, and I still need to clean up my movement updates and get a diff posted but on the todo list. I just get distracted.

Basically eq2 doesn't treat all widgets the same. We first noticed this on the multi floor lift in lavastorm and created special code for them. Turns out it isn't limited to multi floor lifts and this lift in elddar grove is one of them. So giving it a script and setting it as a multi floor lift worked after the correct values were set.

I should point out that include_location MUST be set on multi floor lifts for them to work properly.
