Connectivity Test

Can I get one of you lovely people to attempt to connect to the JA Test Server? It's been a very long time since I've run a server, and not sure I set it up correctly
Once in (if you get there), try and move around, zone to different zones by using /zone or just crossing boundaries like normal. This is testing the current code base against gcc 7.3.0, which I seem to recall there were issues with in the past. ( Jabantiz? )
If it works, Cynnar might finally get the new server I've been promising for 3 years
Let me know.

ok i am attempting to log in, i created character and it went right back to character select after trying to log in
no it says i have a character in the world, and it will probably stay like that till a reboot it changed to something is prohibiting you from logging in
camp went to emu server and the toon i created in not listed restarted my client
shows all server down except emu ( that was the fake offiline thing we get sometime
trying to log back in with my toon Beod. says connecting to zone server then goes back to character select

Cool, thank you for testing. It's doing the same thing for me. Not sure what's up yet, but it's been about 3 years since I ran a server that wasn't EQ2Emu official
Time to go read the wiki (how embarrassing)
Edit: Oh ffs... I had to set the internalipaddress field in the LoginServer.ini file on this server. I do not have it set on the live server. Weird. Anyway, I am in now... but I am LAN, so see if a WAN can hit it. Thanks again!

There was an issue with zoning in the past but I believe that was fixed when we updated to maria db.
For the record the issue was when you did /zone you would get the loading screen and it would go through the process but when it cleared you were in the exact same zone.

Jabantiz ok, thanks. What I noticed so far locally is when I did a /zone 12, the client crashed. I am using DOV Box Set from my SVN. Version 1096. I thought that was a good one.

Yeah, so, let me explain... I am 55 years old, that makes me a Senior Citizen in the United States... so I am allowed a certain measure of "senility", if you please.
I could not see the teeny tiny font on my firewall appliance app, so I entered
195.168.1.* as my local IP

Oops.
I'm going to go eat my pudding and take my geritol and have a nap now.

and dont feel bad at all about not seeing,
this morning i woke up and 4:30 and strated pluggin away at the emu and i kept hearing a cats meow
so i searched, all the closets, bathrooms , basement etc, and finally checked my duaghters room and the both cats were sound asleep on her bed
so i went back to the computer shutdown the eq2 client, and the cat stop meowing

btw, I saw Beod log in, and the server threw a Signal 11 and kicked us all out. Still running, but all zones shut down. Restarting.

I logged in screwed around with combat and gathering then /zone 12, it took forever to the point i thought my client crashed but the zone did eventually load up and I am running around in it now.

Ok, hit it hard, anyone. It will not auto-restart after it crashes because I want to see the errors, if any.
If this turns out to be stable, I can swap the VMs next weekend. That will give me time to set up the DB Editor on the new server, as well.
Thanks for testing.

Ok, hoping to get a few more folks to log into JA Test Server over this next week (that I'll be too busy to check in regularly) and if all seems well, this can become the new VM for EQ2Emulator.net (#allthethings Cynnar)
If anyone loses connection or experiences anything "weird", be sure to post it here so I can review logs at the time of day it happened, otherwise I will not know anything is wrong.
Thanks
