A client fully patched to live will not work on our servers. Currently the best way to get a client for our servers is to download the one from steam but make sure not to patch it after it is downloaded.

Keep in mind the project is far from matured. I would not say it is in a playable state for what you want. Yes you can kill things and do minor quest but there will be bugs galore.
