Linked timers

I know Jabantiz and I talked about this in a past thread but I need to bring it up again. Linked spell timers and spell stacking. So how does this work? I need to be able to make sure spells overwrite. Seems like this can get complicated. I am not sure it can be done with linked timers. First though can someone explain a bit better on what a linked spell timer does for you. I just put three spells on the same timer and they still stacked. Does this just make them end at the same time?

This was the previous thread. https://www.eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/view ... mer#p30808

May be a moot point. Crazy enough I still have my old SVN before I switched to GIT. Looks like I still have this commit.

Linked timers were for recast. Basically if a spell has a 30 sec recast then any other spell with the same linked_timer will also be on recast for those 30 sec. Mainly used for spells withing the same line but I know wizards had some spells where recast overlapped.

For spell stacking I don't remember the details as it has been so long but I believe we set it up so the highest version of the spell overwrites the others, linked timers do not effect this at all.

irrc on live if 2 link spells 1 has 30 sec other has 45 then it would also go by the first cast so if you cast 45sec first you had to wait 45 till you could cast the 30,
and most of the time the one with the longer recast did alot more damage and more power so when you built your casting orders you would typically forego the 30 sec one until you were low power
i would have to verify on live of course
