• Got Signal 11

Im doing this on two different machines, one win xp pro(running eq2), the other ubuntu(running server).
Client crashes
in my terminal screen on ubuntu i get this
Got Signal 11
500 times (estimate)
and after that, i beleive the server crashes.. i do not see any errors or warnings.

Are you using the latest version from svn?

Yes, just downloaded it yesterday, has it changed since then?

I did some research for you and came up with a little information:
Signal 11 means the program tried to access a location in memory it did not have access to.
A few notes:
Are you running your commands through a terminal?
Try to update to the latest source.
Did you compile the source successfully with no errors?

LE and I just made this happen (accidentally) on TessEQ2, so hopefully he caught it in his logging. The world crash I just mentioned was a Signal 11.
This is my world running on Win32, if that matters. I came back off Linux for now for other reasons (my eq1 emu was not working

)

So I guess if we can reproduce the error, it needs to be fixed. I'll try reproduce it here too.

Thanks for the help, I updated my files, but havnt noticed the error, but ive also been down. I think if i do a sudo ./wolrd i dont get the error but will have to test it more. will check back in.

I am also getting this error when loging into server, it stalls at loggiing into zone server on the client, and the server gives me the signal 11.
and link yes, i am running them through terminal, I have no gui on my ubuntu setup, I am using server 7.10
I am using the latest source.. and yes it installed perfect except for warnings.

I'm using 7.10 with the latest svn and I am running fine.
Does it crash on you immediately after logging in every time?

Yes, I cant even log into the world, it stops at the "logging into zone server" load bar.
would it be because i updated my sql tables via the windows server? but i am running the linux one?
had to update sql via windows because linux was locked out for seven days.
I did reinstall/recompile the server with fresh svn files, but it still doesnt work.
I was getting the signal 11 before, but only after being loged in a while and creating npc's, changing zones etc. but now it wont even let me log in.
not sure.

Ok i fixed it for now...

since lethal opened up the update server i re downloaded the sql tables via the linux machine and it all works...
