Zone Blending

With the release of RoK, the concept of "zone blending" was introduced. I haven't picked up my copy of RoK yet (will be tomorrow YAY!

), so I have to raise the questions. Does "zone blending" only apply to the new RoK zones, or have they implemented it throughout the entire game? If in case of the former, would it be possible to implement "zone blending" gamewide, or will that be too much trouble?
Thanks

Streaming terrain? That's my guess. I'd like to know too.

Basically it is several zones in one. For instance, the Kylong Plains are actually Ryjesium Peaks, The Overthere, Dreg's Landing, Kunzar's Edge, Teren's Grasp, Seeping Ruins, etc all in one zone. They use dynamic lighting and regional weather effects to make it look like you are walking from a lush forest to snow covered peaks. In the old world, each zone is one terrain type, in Kunark each zone has several different terrain types. This results in massive zones (2 to 3 times the size of the Commonlands).
