Doors and zones

Post by Jalister » Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:29 pm

I've read that doors and zone points are working for someone. Is this in the 0.6 release, or only the CVS?
If they are supposed to work in 0.6, they are not for me. Is there something I need to do?
Thanks.

They work, both only if you have them in your database. The official database hasnt been released yet, but when it is all the doors/zone points will work.

Since a DB release is most likely a long ways off, is there any documentation on setting up doors and zone points?

I'm not sure if someone has documented it yet, but if so it will be on the wiki. Doors and zonepoints aren't hard to setup if you know the widget_id associated with a particular object in the zone. Every object in the zone has a specific widget id and to make them clickable you must add it to the spawn_signs (zonepoints) or spawn_widgets (doors) table. Be sure to add the spawn information to the spawn table as well. A few zonepoints arent are created without widget id's, but they are pretty rare and are not based on objects in the zone.
There is a parser that parsers information from logs and creates a database from it, but it is used only by the database team for creating a database. Eventually the database will be released, you just have to be patient.

I do use /zone. I just want to try and start learning how to do things early on as they are put in, rather than wait until everything is in. I still need to refresh on spawns, I had some created a while back. And I still have not found a way to make items appear on my toon.
