Update 2: Cruise Control

Post by Tarzok » Sun Sep 09, 2007 9:31 pm

Welcome to the SECOND update of what is apparently a tri-weekly update, but will hopefully be bi-weekly or better at some point. We do apologize for the delays and such (I blame the developers, k?).
PROGRESS
Here is the current status of the emulator, to the best of my understanding. New features, since the last update, are tastefully underlined.
We have the following featuers implemented as of today:
  • Login/world server
  • Character creation with correct appearances
  • Logging into zones
  • Moving around zones
  • Moving between zones (/zone command implemented)
  • Chat functionality
  • Regeneration
  • Spell functionality
  • Commands for changing race, level, and class
The following stuff is being worked on as I speak:
  • Implementing code for items and item functionality
  • Bug fixing between the login server and world
  • Combat!
FORUMS
  • A comprehensive list of item stats has been posted, numbering 102. It includes several strange stats. Also interesting is the large number of stats put on single items. For the complete list and further information, feel free to take a look.
  • A post concerning EQ2EMu customization has important information concerning will be customizable. Among the newly found customizable features include achievements, discovery locale, and deities. For a larger list, visit the thread.
  • Developers have confirmed the future release of a minilogin program. This will be a limited and scaled back version of the real login server designed to allow LAN servers while still maintaining a central community. For more information and various assumptions, check it out.
  • LethalEncounter made an almost insightful post about the bonuses that go into account age. If you're curious, check it out.
  • Apparently, you still can't get into the alpha and Zex ruins threads.
OTHER
  • In slightly pointless information, it has been revealed that emote messages will be customizable.
  • The max level possible is 65535
  • Norrath's storage problems are over: it is possible to make a 100 slot backpack!
Interesting IRC comment of the week: <Techguy84> hey, theres something you dont see everyday.... Gay Horse Porn, now horse porn for all walks of life
Until next time!

You have to have the RoK retail box set. Since the current live client doesn't work, that is your only option until tSO comes out in November.

Meaning when we decide to update the emulator to tSO, you'll need to buy tSO. Until then, you'll need RoK.
