I already bought RoK digital download, because RoK box haven't been sold in a lot of EU countries. And the problem is that if u buy digital download, u get RoK and all the patches until current date, so I can't play to the emu until LE can update login server
btw, i would like to can login in eqemu server, because I want help to quests team and beta testing.

I'm pretty certain LE is very busy trying to get 0.8 beta release out. Sometimes you will just have to wait as LE is the only developer working on this emulator at the moment and believe it or not, he does have another life . I did the same thing and accidentally patched the day after 0.6 came out and SOE decided to change something (bastards!) that day. So I'm patiently waiting with you.

That is why your should create backup of your EQ2 folder, just for these type situations
I have a dedicated 250GB drive just for EQ2, lol
first thing I do before every big update is put a copy onto that hard drive before I patch.

Tornar, kindly remember this project isn't all about you, mkay? hah. Lots of people (including myself) waiting for new structs, but we understand that waiting is a part of the process. Consider yourself fortunate that here, you are not stuck on a client that was released in 2005... ahem.

Actually I do have a back up. LE released 0.6 on a Sunday. When 0.6 was released, LE had made it work up to the live version (as of Sunday). I wasn't around until Monday after work so I patched both of my copies to live and SOE snuck in a monday morning patch. I patched my backup first to test to see if it did work and it does work but /summonitem won't.

That defeats the whole purpose of the backup.

Initialliy I didn't. I patched >>one<< to see if the emulator would work with it. It DID work to an extent. I allows me to login and do everything normal except summon items which I did not test out before patching my backup (my fault). I patch both because I also play live a lot. If I see that live works with the emulator I usually like to patch both to the latest working version to establish a baseline. I only have an 80g hard drive so I don't have enough room to have a live directory, an eq2emu directory, and an eq2emu back up directory unfortunately.

After playing catch up with EQEmu for a long time, I've gotten very protective of my emu files. If I remember correctly, I waited over 6 months one time for a working client. I have RoK, and 2 working client versions. Hard drive space is also a problem for me, so I burn them to DVDs. The few dollars for the backups is easily worth it to me.
This isn't a jab, I feel for you on the working client version.

Just patch to live on the 31st and then don't patch again without making a copy and you should be fine once I get it working. It usually doesn't take me too long to do, but I have quite a bit of things that I am doing right now.

Take your time! Of course prioritize 0.7. It was our mistakes, we ignored the warning signs.

Just patch to live on the 31st and then don't patch again without making a copy and you should be fine once I get it working. It usually doesn't take me too long to do, but I have quite a bit of things that I am doing right now.

Fantastic, I somehow ended up breaking my copy, and as I actually play on live I didn’t want to uninstall and reinstall, make a copy, and then patch live again.

LE, I feel like a total asshole for asking but... Any plans to get the EMU working with todays patch (July 31st)? Canceled my account about a year ago due to funding issues but hey she's an adorable funding issue! And never bought RoK when it came out! But with SoE offering free play and free use of RoK this summer, I couldn't resist alittle hack and slash. As I'm sure many of us could not resist. Today marks the end of free play and they had to end it with a new patch!
I know it has to be alot of work but what are the chances?

NEVERMIND! I really should learn to wake up before firing off on forums. I re-read the post. NOW I really feel like an asshole.
