If you want to play using the latest client, be sure to update to 5016L and then make a copy of it for the emu. This will be the last time I update to live before 0.7 is released (which could be a couple of months), so if you don't make a copy then you will have to wait if you dont have the RoK DVD.

So if I download the reinstall off there website and download the game it should be the right version?

That would be one heck of a patch, but as long as you back what you do have up somewhere safe, it couldn't hurt to try.
As of right now, the client is still 5016L on live.

You can always try to replace your EverQuest2.exe with a prior version and see how that works out.
