New Appearances.

Post by Tyr » Fri Aug 01, 2008 5:07 pm

After messing around with the appearances table for a little bit I found that absolutely nothing I did could convince my server to load the specified model, in this specific case, I am attempting to get the model for Karana’s avatar to load, I know the path to the file (creatures/tu/gods_karana – I know, who’d have guessed?).
The thing I find interesting is that even if I copy another entry in the table, say “creatures/tu/gods_tribunalâ€

What exactly are you trying to do? Spawn an NPC? a MOB?

The data in the appearances table is taken directly from the client. You cannot create new appearances.

Ahh, see, I was going to ask how to get the other newer models then, but I started typing in random numbers after 7000 and it started loading them..... Soooooo, thanks. sorry I didn’t try something as blatantly obvious before….That sure makes me feel retarded.

Well the list that you use is about a year old and contains about 8000 appearances while the latest data from the client contains almost 9000, so yah we are missing about 1000 from the list. That might be why it looked like you found something from the random numbers.

INSERT INTO appearances(id, appearance_id, name) VALUES(7966, 8003, 'creatures/tu/gods_karna');
~over the loud speaker~
"We need a spell-check on isle 5, please!"
Is that really "karna", or "karana"? :D Knowing SOE, I had to ask.

Just doubled checked and thats how they have it spelled.
I spawned one of the new void storms too, hehe.
If anybody is interested in it
INSERT INTO appearances(id, appearance_id, name) VALUES(7967, 8264, '_exp05/monsters/void_storm_tornado');

That's what I thought, I didn't think you pasted it wrong lol...
The new models might be cool to play with. Are there new zones too? Or is this still just part of ROK?

Indeed there are, you can add "shard_of_hate" to the zone table and zone into that, there is also "exp05_dun_veksar"
Those are the only two zones not in the DB atm, funny thing is Veksar isn’t supposed to be live till GU48; it’s not even on test, yet the zone there in the client none-the less.

They are part of RoK. Avatar of Storms has been in the game for quite a bit. He spawns in Thundering Steppes.

The 3 RoK Gods Avatars were added post-RoK release, and their the model files were not included with the disk; also Shard of Hate came out months after RoK. So were as they may both me be "part" of RoK in the sense they are on live now, you still need to be patch up to the current supported version.
