EQ2DB Development Project Details:
TessEQ2 has been my personal test bed for data and code tweaks since Nov 2007 when I first discovered this great project. Since then, I personally have stampeded in and taken over the Database design project and have begged and pleaded for help from the community in that effort.
TessEQ2 will be used as the "Master Database" source for all our cleanup efforts, and thus players/visitors are welcome to hop on the server to see our efforts in progress. The goal is once a zone is polished to perfection, we will release the zone data in a chunk via the Live Update server provided by Lethalencounter.
Since this server will likely be used for the database project long-term, live-like play may not be an option for most since things will change and/or be reverted regularly for testing. However during specific phases of testing (Alpha and Beta), certain limitations will be placed on available commands to ensure proper testing is occuring.
Once EQ2Emulator reaches release (1.0), I will set up a live-like server for legit play as detailed above. Meanwhile, come join the fun in building this magnificent world on this; our DB Project server!

Shouldn't take a day to sort out, just letting you know Tess is taking a short nap.

Network issues resolved. The problem was a faulty switch that was overly "chatty". TessEQ2 is back alive and ready for testing.

More than willing to break anything you want me to, Cap'n.

C'mon in and check out some items stuff, though I am not 100% sure my data matches the revamp, but that's what I am verifying now.
Use /itemsearch {item_name} to find stuff.
Use /summonitem {ID} to load it into your big-ass bag.
Equip the stuff (drag & drop, no menu for equip yet), zone around, hit stuff, camp, etc. See if you're still pretty when you come back in. :)

Hi manoth. Welcome to the EQ2Emulator project! There's plenty to do for anyone interested, just check through the Content Design forums for information. Pretty much gathering info from the live game, or joining one of the teams is open to all. Just let us know what your specialty is.
Shoot me or Scatman a PM with any info or questions.

Much to my dismay, my ISP (Qwest) is completely screwing up our internet connectivity during one of their famous upgrades. On Jan 6th, 2009, EVERYONE is losing connectivity while they switch to new hardware or some BS, and we need to replace our DSL modems with some new fangled device. They promise 3x the speed, and they will be tested. ;)

But on or around Jan 6th @ 5am MST, TessEQ2 server will likely be offline for the entire day. Hopefully our appointment to be upgraded the same day will be a reality and we'll only be out for the one day.

Just a heads up to the team working on my server. Hey, at least they warned us this time. :|

Just a reminder, TessEQ2 server will be offline starting in a few hours for an undetermined length of time while I get some hardware switched.

We'll be back asap!

After a day of panic, I think we're back in business. Qwest (my ISP) has basically forced an upgrade on all their customers to newer ADSL hardware, granting us a much needed speed boost - but in the process, the new modems apparently want to rule the world. After the technician left, I almost had a heart attack that anyone outside the local network was trying to resolve a new local 192.168.0.2 IP address for >everything< - and called that guy back to the house to fix it. While he was far more savvy than the useless monkeys in the call centers, he was amazed at what I was trying to do (which to me is just simple networking)... and he actually sat and learned a few things about what "power users" do once a tech leaves the house. :)

Suffice it to say, my actual problem was nothing short of me trying too many things and not letting the dust settle. After passing out from exhaustion, I got up this morning to a working connection and everything appears to be in order... so for anyone fighting with a new Actiontec M1000 super modem, simply put that sucker in Transparent Bridge mode, change your LAN IP to match your network, and your old router to PPPoE - and everything should work fine!

Well, we'll see. It's only been 2 hours that it's been working. Wait until the next DHCP release, and I'll let ya know. Meanwhile, TessEQ2 is once again developing content for eager players just like Layor.
