spawn_loot table

Post by John Adams » Sat Aug 09, 2008 11:14 am

Something just occurred to me while messing with the loot tables. Would it be better to tie a loottable to a zonespawngroup record rather than a spawn_id?
I am not sure if this is valid, but what if you have "a Darkpaw Youth" spawn_id (1) spawned 12 times in an area, but you want to assign loottable 1, 2, and 3 to different groupings of them? With the current loot system being tied to spawn_id, you would have to duplicate your spawn for "a Darkpaw Youth" once for every unique loottable.
This is not a critical deal, just curious if anyone can recall a time in EQ2Live where this might be the case. Keep in mind, when I mean unique spawn_id, I mean the mobs are *exactly* the same in every single aspect - cuz otherwise, they would have their own spawn_id and this is moot.
Thoughts?
