Real Life Situation

Post by techguy84 » Mon Oct 01, 2007 2:48 pm

Some may already know, but for those that dont.
I'm in the middle of a big career change that may cause some issues with me being around. I have ran a small time computer business for the past couple years and sales and profits have bottomed out to the point that I can not sustain myself anymore. I am struggling with monthly bills and what not so I have to make a career change.
Its funny though what I am going in to. I have known and delt with computers all my life and its wierd to think of myself as being a future "truck driver". Thats right, the long haul for me. I have driven professionally for a couple of my previous jobs, but it was mostly going from one customer to another to preform things like delivering pizza or to install a DirecTV satellite system. To think that I am going to be full time on the road is a wierd thought, but the money is going to be on par with what I was making back when business was booming.
Anyhow though, back onto subject. I am going to be without internet for a little bit of time. Looking at anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months. 2 weeks if I can find a cheap laptop. 2 months at the latest cause I plan on buying a really nice one that is EQ2 capable. I have cell phone service so I can easliy get some wireless data plan and a modem to use when I am out.
So as it stands now, I will be around for maybe 2 more weeks before I leave, and after that I may be gone. Its not major news, but I thought I would share it with you guys incase someone come up and said "Hey, were did Techguy go?"

Damn man... driving trucks? That is a big jump, but you can make some good money doing it if you don't mind the really long treks. All the best to you my friend and I hope you get back on your feet!
