Quick Database Question

Post by Scatman » Sun Sep 14, 2008 3:51 pm

I collected The Caves last night and did every quest and got a full 100% complete collect. I parsed all the spawns and populated my db with the raw data. Just out of curriosity, is it possible to now somehow export my 197xxxxx spawns (cave spawns) as an SQL script so John could run it and put it into his database? I've uploaded the caves file to the SVN too incase you just want to parse it yourself.

While it is possible, I decided not to spend time weaving multiple datasources together into one master DB - and instead chose to do all "official" work on TessEQ2. I would rather continue doing it this way, unless there is some reason why we shouldn't.
I know we're temporarily stalled on the two islands, but that is for more reasons than just not getting data parsed. Patience, my young Scat. If you give me your collected logs, they will be added as soon as I get a few other things resolved.

Haha I've got all the patience in the world :) I was just messing around last night and make sure I knew how to use everything and then that question came to mind. Yep the log is on the svn caves_2008-09-14 or something.

Scat, once again I have what I think is >everything< (old and new logs) parsed and on TessEQ2Dev. You are the only one with an account there right now, so when you get a moment, hop on and check out the 6 Qeynos villages and their surrounding newbie zones. I'd like to pop the live server with that tomorrow.
Only thing is, some of the doors are not working - and every sign post says "Oakmyst Forest". Not sure what's up with that. The signs on the Islands are fine, so again this is likely caused by mixing the old 2007 data with our new stuff. I'm seriously considering not even parsing that old stuff anymore, but what a waste of data :(.
While I think Graystone, Baubbleshire, Willowwood, and Castleview are close as they're going to get, I think we could use another collect of Starcrest, and Nettleville. I think even the Elddar Grove may be ok.
Let's walk through them when you have time. I got plenty, so I'll be messing in there all day seeing if I can fix the doors or getting more collections done.

Ok when I get back home tomorrow I'll hop on and check it out. I'll be home around 4pm EST. I seriously wouldn't parse the 2007 logs because so much has changed since then (mobs, items big big time, quests, etc).

I tend to agree. this is why I need current, active players on this team to log into TessEQ2Dev and evaluate the parsings. The only thing "old" that I might want to keep are the seasonal decoration spawns that SOE puts in during the holidays - but we could always re-collect them this next holiday season.
Looking forward to Frostfell!

I tried to log onto your dev server today but my character isn't showing up on my character select screen. I checked your DB and sure enough he's still there but for whatever reason I can't see him. So I tried making a new character named "Scatman" and setting my admin_status to 100 but I was denied access! :P

heh, yeah, no editing on that DB by anyone but GOD himself (me). ;)
I'll fix ya. Not sure why Scat didn't show... he's the same one we were on that DB before.
