I keep getting this error after char creation screen as i am loading into the world(both on my own server and any of the other servers that are up that i have tried)....
EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.
<verify> D:\live\eq2\game\client\src\GameScene.cpp(4050):Failed to create zone. Suggestion: Please do a full scan from the patcher.
I am using build 4427, any ideas why i am getting this error? and any sulotions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

Sounds like you did a partial update of your game.
I would install the French version of the game as they are still on the right version in live right now.

I did download the french version .... would installing the game from the dvd's possibly correct the issue becuase i am not able to patch it any further or download any more content from SoE's site without using the US release which will patch it past a playable version?
One more question ... when i look at the server list on this site it shows diffrent servers running at diffrent times but always shows them with 0 players online .... Are any of you able to join any of the servers at this time? or does it just always show 0 players online even if there happen to be more?
And yes I am aware that this is all very new and still be worked on constantly with very little to no actual content but I would like to correct whatever issue I am having so I can help with the project in whatever way possible.
Thanks again all for your time and advice in advance

Character select will show the correct number of people online. However, since there isnt much to do yet (and we only have 300ish users) there will be very few servers/people on those servers. As for your original question, that could also be caused by zoning into a zone for which you dont have the files. Try zoning into antonica (assuming you have those files).

I have seen that error myself too, and it happened for me when someone else logged into my server. I have a fully patched client that has all files other than the adventure packs.
Whats funny though, is if you really read the line, its all wrong 100% of the time. There is no D:\live folder, most users dont even install to D:\. Another thing is its refering to a file that looks like a source file, hence the .cpp, which we all know that SOE would never bundle source files with a released public product, nor would anyone else.
Funny little error thats for sure, but it will all be ironed out in the long run.

Those are debugging statements in the code. It is pointing to the file (on SOE's server) that contains the code responsible for the problem.
